About Us
Septic work, done in the right order.
Albany Septic Pros is an Albany-based septic installation and replacement company serving the Capital Region — Colonie, Clifton Park, East Greenbush, Guilderland, and the hamlets and rural roads across Albany, Saratoga, Rensselaer, and Schenectady counties. We install and replace the systems this region actually needs: conventional where the ground allows it, engineered where it doesn't.
What sets us apart: diagnosis before dollars
Most septic money gets wasted in one of two ways. A homeowner replaces a $6,000 tank when the real failure was a $25,000 field — or replaces a $25,000 system when the real failure was a crushed pipe a repair crew could have fixed in an afternoon. Both mistakes come from quoting before diagnosing.
We work in the order that protects your money: figure out what's actually failing first — tank, field, or a single component — then test the ground if a new field or system is on the table, because the soil and the spring water table decide whether your lot gets a conventional design or an engineered one at a very different price. Only then does anyone talk numbers — and by then the numbers mean something.
Our process
- Free on-site evaluation. We locate the tank and field, assess the system's condition and history, and read the site — then put a written, itemized scope in your hand.
- Test where it matters. For field or full-system work, soil and water-table data comes before design — it's what your county requires and what keeps the design honest.
- Design & permit. Systems are designed to NYS DOH Appendix 75-A standards (engineer-stamped when required) and permitted through your county health department. We carry the paperwork, not you.
- Build to the plan. Tank set, field built to grade and spec, county inspection passed before anything is covered.
- Leave a record. Restoration plus an as-built diagram of what sits where — the document every future pump-out, inspection, and home sale will thank you for.
We tell you what your system actually needs
Not every failing septic symptom means a new system. A backed-up house can be a full tank, a blocked baffle, or a crushed line — problems measured in hundreds or a few thousand, not tens of thousands. Part of the evaluation is telling you honestly which situation you're in. We'd rather quote the right scope than the biggest one — and when a repair genuinely covers it, that's what we'll recommend.
Verifying septic work in New York
New York has no statewide septic-installer license — the control point is the county health department permit and inspection, with systems designed to the state's Appendix 75-A standards. That makes the paper trail your protection: whoever you hire, confirm a permit is being pulled for the work, that the county inspects before backfill, and that you receive the as-built record when it's done. We quote permits as a line item and welcome the scrutiny — unpermitted systems have a way of surfacing at the worst possible time, usually mid-home-sale.
